Some things never get old... like wearing spandex and makeup, spouting blood and fire, and rock'n'rolling all night and partying every day. Not even when they're done by 60something Gene Simmons.

KISS will hit the road this summer on their "Hottest Show on Earth" tour, kicking off July 23 in Cheyenne, WY, and you can bet your platform boots there will plenty of the aforementioned goodies. The 28-date tour, their second since the release of 2009's comeback effort Sonic Boom, will lead the rock vets from Boston to Dallas, before closing out on September 24 in Phoenix. The band is promising to perform all their biggest hits, plus classics they haven't played live in years.

LOS ANGELES, May 24 (Reuters) - A decade after KISS embarked on a farewell tour, the rock band on Monday unveiled a three-month series of U.S. concerts starting in July and modestly titled the "Hottest Show on Earth."

The band is currently playing Europe, and will take a month off before beginning their U.S. trek in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on July 23. Dates are on tap through Sept. 24 in Phoenix, Ariz.

KISS, a relentless rock 'n' roll merchandising machine, is out promoting its first album in 11 years, "Sonic Boom," which debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. pop chart last October. But the flamboyant foursome is in the enviable position of not having to worry about either album or ticket sales in the recessionary environment.

LEGENDARY ROCK ICONS KISS RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA WITH THE HOTTEST SHOW ON EARTH TOUR

Throughout their 37-year career, KISS has sold 80 million albums, played in front of millions of people and become an integral part of American culture. Now, rock's most iconic band is unleashing another assault on North America with The Hottest Show on Earth tour starting on July 23. KISS will perform such classics as "Detroit Rock City" and "Rock and Roll All Nite" as well as hits that they haven't played in the US in many years.

Hi KISS,

Thanks for an amazing UK tour. I caught five shows and took my family to the last night at Wembley. As you can see from the photo, we had a ball and the show was awesome. It was great to watch a KISS show with my girls as it was their first KISS show, and their wide eyed amazement throughout was a joy to behold.

Once again, thank you to Paul, Gene, Tommy and Eric for a brilliant few weeks.

On the day in KISStory - May 24, 2008, KISS rocked Russia for the very first time ever! The band performed at Moscow's Olympiysky stadium for over 15,000 members of the Russian KISS Army.

KISS DYNASTY ALBUM RELEASED

KISS released their DYNASTY album on May 23rd, 1979. The album features KISS' first international top 5 smash hit, "I Was Made For Lovin' You". This song was the first collaboration between Paul Stanley and Desmond Child for KISS. Though known for that great disco song, other more rockin' DYNASTY tracks included "X-Ray Eyes", "Save Your Love", "Magic Touch" and "Hard Times". The album is filled with some of KISS' most melodic and catchy hooks. Led by the success of "I Was Made For Lovin' You", DYNASTY spent 25 weeks on the charts peaking at #9 and was certified Platinum by July!

Except for Peter Criss's sole appearance on "Dirty Livin", which featured his lead vocals and drumming, it was Anton Fig who handled the drums on all other songs on DYNASTY.

KISS released two promotional videos for DYNASTY, "I Was Made For Lovin' You" and the great Paul Stanley pop rocker "Sure Know Something".

KISS - best ever! Wembley Arena Thursday nights KISS concert at Wembley wasn't just the best performance by you guys that I have seen ( and this was my second of this tour let alone before) but the best concert EVER! The choice of songs, the commitment, energy and show were simply incredible. Superb sound, knock-out effects and a truly jaw dropping screen set up behind and in front of the drum riser made sure the audience never missed a thing and was entertained through every single song with specially created graphics and videos.Nobody puts more into a show than you guys for the fans and you played 2 and a quarter hours - and your playing is better than it has ever been. KISS, more than any other band, know you are there for us and because of us and deliver what we want in spades. Great to see full families there along with us ( ahem!) older fans. None better. Never will be.
