From: Andrew I was just watching the newly released 50th Anniversary DVD of Elvis Presley's screen debut, 'Love Me Tender'. The documentary that's included describes how 'out of character' it was for Elvis to be doing a ballad at this stage of his career. They go on to compare it to the rock band 'KISS' recording of 'Beth' at a time when it was least expected from them......but went on to be a huge hit AND expose them to a wider audience....just as was the case with Elvis at this time (1955). As a die-hard KISS fan, I was truly glowing to see that my heroes were being compared to this musical icon. Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, are you listening??
