They had to cancel their gig and were so shocked they decided to help the city
US rockers Kiss have donated a guitar to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for those injured in the Arena bomb.
The bombing forced the band to cancel its own Manchester Arena gig scheduled the week after the outrage as the venue remained a devastated crime scene.
The attack left 22 dead and dozens of others, many of them children, seriously injured.
Singer and guitarist Paul Stanley was determined to do something for the city so donated his unused Ibanez PS120 guitar, which he had planned to play at the concert, to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where many of the injured were treated.
Discs will feature individual members, group shot
When Paul Stanley sang, “I’ll be your gambler baby, lay down your bet” in 1977’s Love Gun, maybe this is what he had in mind.
Known for attaching their name to many products including action figures, lunch boxes and even condoms and caskets, the band’s likeness can even be found on poker chips, thanks to the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino.
The casino has launched a line of specially designed chip is anticipation of the iconic band’s outdoor show there later this summer. There are five chips in total, one for each individual member of the band plus one featuring the entire group.
The first in the series, lead guitarist Tommy Thayer (The Spaceman) goes on sale today at 3 p.m.
