The story that has been told and retold, of the rock band KISS visiting Cadillac in 1975 at the invitation of the Cadillac High School football team, will be retold again, this time by the cable sports network ESPN.

Vikings football coach Jim Webb confirmed Friday that an ESPN crew asked permission to film the homecoming game Friday night. The crew also filmed part of the homecoming parade.

Webb said the players were "pumped" to hear the news that ESPN would be on the sidelines for the game.

"I told the players, in case they needed a little more motivation than homecoming, that some of them might be on national TV," Webb said.

KISSONLINE LETTER
I was watching NCAA football yesterday on one of the ESPN networks and Kiss was featured as part of a "prep for commercial" programming package. "All For the Glory" was noted onscreen along with the album title "Sonic Boom" and "Kiss." The music went well with the visual package of amazing football heroics shown.

I thought it would be good to mention this - you may already know about it.

I visit your site several times a week and enjoy the presentation and content you offer to Kiss fans like me.

The Legendary KISS Is Back On The Road And Starring At Walmarts Everywhere

By GORDON DICKSON

KISS is back with a new record, a concert tour and a promotional blitz coming to a Walmart near you.

Yes, the guys are older now, but they're still wearing spandex, painting their faces and putting on quite a show.

"The thing about KISS is, there's a real timeless appeal to it," lead guitarist Tommy Thayer said in a recent phone interview, before donning his "Spaceman" garb and playing a concert in Montreal. "The same thing that caught people's hearts and passions in the early 1970s is the same thing I see happening with kids today. Obviously, you have to bring kids into the fold for bands like KISS to keep reinventing themselves."

The four-man rock band will unveil its first new music in 11 years as part of a three-disc set titled Sonic Boom that drops at Walmarts nationwide Tuesday. The $12 set, which includes a CD of new songs, a CD of classic hits and a DVD of live

MR. POTATO HEADS AT WALMART
ACTON NEWS 7 ABC
Just in time for the band's momentous return to Cobo Arena, KISS collectibles are making their way to area stores. We were pretty impressed by the Mr. Potato Head dolls immortalizing band members.

There are 4 dolls, one of which has a large tongue and is - of course - instantly recognizable as Gene Simmons.

Metro Detroit Walmart stores are selling the new KISS Mr. Potato Heads in addition to makeup kits, wigs, CDs, and special M&M candies.

According to Walmart, stores here will have the items arranged in special displays within their electronics and Halloween sections.

CADILLAC NEWS
By Jeff Broddle

Cadillac High School Football Coach Dave Brines new they had to do something. The year before, the Vikings had gone 9-0 and finished third in the state, part of a 16-game winning streak. Although they had lost a few players since that undefeated 1973 season, Brines and his assistant coach, Jim Neff, knew their 1974 team was solid. Still, they had lost their first two games, although by close margins.

"They weren't used to losing. They were pretty down mentally," Brines said.

His conclusion was, "The kids weren't having any fun."

A coaching meeting to address the problem launched a series of events that, with Neff's help, would bring outrageously costumed, fire-breathing rock band KISS to Cadillac, Michigan for a visit that would be talked about and revisited for decades.

During the coaching meeting, Neff suggested playing rock and roll music in the locker room as a way to loosen up the team and get them ready to play.

The suggestion was a 180 degree turn from Brines' approach.

"I wanted the locker room quiet. I wanted them to be serious and think about the game," Brines said.

But Brines trusted Neff, and knew he had a good football mind, and he went along with the suggestion.

CANADA'S PRIME MINISTER IS KOOL!
KISSONLINE
KISS Tribute Destroyer was invited to play during the opening ceremonies for WORLDSKILLS 2009 which was being held in Calgary, Alberta this year. Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper also spoke at the week long event. After the ceremonies, the guys were honored to be introduced to the leader of our country. This was definitely a memorable moment for Destroyer as well as proving that Canada's leader is definitely KISS KOOL!!
