MY TRIBUTE HARLEY DAVIDSON
KISSONLINE FAN LETTER
KISS,

Some months ago, I believe that I may have sent you some photos of a year long project, the KISS Tribute Harley Davidson. The final completion was done two weeks before Sonic Boom came out (what a GREAT CD).

I took the bike to a bike show in Northern California, and it created quite a stir and KISS fans were thrilled to see it, to take pictures of it, and to stand around talking about the band, the tour and the new music. I will be taking it, weather permitting, to Vallejo Ca for a Halloween party at the Harley Dealership, my girlfriend putting on the Cat makeup like she did for a concert in August last year.

In brief, I got the idea when I saw on KOL the Australian bike and thought that we should have one on this side of the pond. After considerable thought, going through design ideas, I came up with the design idea and its proved to be a winner with the fans.

The 'real flames' represent the fire and flames at every concert; the front wheel is a Thunderstar, for the God of Thunder and the Star Child; the black paint is as dark as space for the Spaceman, and all extras have been removed, making it quick as a cat, for the CatMan. The KISS Army logo is on the front fender leading the way, as the fans have done from the beginning; and the license plate says ALIVE35, for the continuing tour. I have tickets for Sacramento and Oakland.

Its merely for my own personal pleasure, and to show it to people who love the band. If the bike show was any indication, wherever I take this, with KISS EVERYWHERE it seems now, it will be photographed and enjoyed by all.

Regards,

Gary Greenough

EVANSVILLE COURIER AND PRESS
By Roger McBain

The groom will appear as a leering, dagger-tongued figure with his hair in a topknot and his face painted in the grotesque mask of the Demon, rocker Gene Simmons' KISS stage persona.

The bride will wear the Starchild face paint used onstage by Paul Stanley, another founding member of the iconic rock band.

And the minister, a dyed-in-the-skin fan with band tattoos inked into his arms, will come as Catman, former KISS drummer Peter Criss' stage character, when he steps up to pronounce Anthony Yates and Lisa Harlen of Chandler, Ind., man and wife in a Halloween ceremony. The couple also are inviting the entire Tri-State KISS army to attend.

"All KISS fans are welcome to the wedding," Harlen said. They can come as band members, in other Halloween costumes "or however they want," she said.

COLUMBUS LOCAL NEWS

A host of creepy creatures descended on Creekside Park for "Creepside" last week, although cold winds and cold rain may have kept quite a few ghostly ghouls and goblins at home.

Cheeks may have been pink from the cold, but excited kids dressed as witches, warlocks, ghosts, rock stars and even baby birds still skipped excitedly from booth to booth and store to store, holding out trick or treat bags for Halloween treats, while parents tried their best to keep up.

Jagger Henthorn, 3, of Gahanna, made the scene dressed as legendary rock superstar Gene Simmons.

FACE PAINTED & PASSIONATE FOR
VIRGINIAN-PILOT
By Mike Kernels

From the mind of Freddie Hamm:

KISS concert. T-minus several hours and anxiously counting.

KISS T-shirt. Check.

KISS belt buckle. Check.

KISS body spray. Seriously. "It actually smells good." Make that a big check.

KISS face paint. Ready to be applied. Estimated time: 45 minutes - minimum.

"I'm that fanatical," says Hamm, 18, of Virginia Beach.

And he's not alone. For a legion of KISS fans, painting their faces for a concert is like an American Express card: You don't leave home without it.

"Just throwing it on is not an option. If you're a diehard fan, you want to do it just like them. Attention to detail is important."

Because the makeup of KISS singer Paul Stanley, for instance, consists of only a white face and a black star over one eye, it's an easy 20 minutes for Hamm.

Guitarist Tommy Thayer? That's 45 minutes.

Frontman Gene Simmons? Also 45. "Unless you're doing his hair," Hamm says.

To get drummer Eric Singer right for Friday's show, Hamm will use a combination of white, black, silver and green creams, lipstick and something that doesn't come with a bar code: patience.

"It is," he admits, "a pain... to put on."

Los Premios MTV to honor Latin pop and rock in LA

MTV will roll its raucous red carpet across continents with its eighth annual Los Premios MTV honoring the best of the year's pop, rock and reggaeton from across Latin America.
The multi-city awards show culminates Thursday evening in Los Angeles after kicking off in September with six of 27 awards presented at regional events in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Bogota.

Winners will receive a "lenguas," the pink tongue-shaped statue inspired by Kiss' Gene Simmons.

NOTE FROM GENE:

The MTV LATIN AWARD (is actually) my tongue.

When I went down to Mexico with our tv show, I actually saw a 5 1/2 foot tall Tongue Statue that people posed next to ...on the red carpet....and when an artist received an MTV Latin Award, they got...my tongue!!!
