MINI GOLF IN TOP 10 UNUSUAL VEGAS ATTRACTIONS
KISS Mini Golf included in Top 10 most unusual attractions in Vegas

By Jeannie Garcia / VEGAS.com

If you’re planning your trip to Las Vegas, we’re pretty sure you want to do something out of the ordinary. Something you want to share with your friends on all the social media outlets. Something you never want to forget.

Sure, you can hit up all the nightclubs or even take all that energy to the daytime pool parties. But if you want to stand out from all your other friends a visit to some of the attractions in Vegas will do it.

Attractions in Vegas aren’t just for the kids. If you’re looking to kill time during the day, you can have a whole lot of fun doing it.

KISS Monster Golf

The only time I saw golf and KISS referenced together was in one of my all-time favorite movies, “Happy Gilmore.” Never did I imagine that these two elements would come together in real life.

Located across the street from Hard Rock Hotel on Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road, KISS Monster Golf features an indoor glow-in-the-dark 18-hole golf course and the walls are adorned with KISS images. There’s even a café and wedding chapel if you can’t get enough of KISS.

For only $11.95 per golfing session, you can rock and putt all night.

GENE SIMMONS WINS 'GOLDEN GOD' AWARD
by: Matthew Wilkening

Gene Simmons, whose face is going to freeze like that one of these days if he’s not careful, was presented with the ‘Golden God’ award at the Revolver Golden Gods awards, which aired via webcast.

The KISS legend seemed legitimately touched by receiving the show’s annual award for the artist who most embodies the “spirit of hard rock and metal.” In fact, he didn’t even try to sell anything during his earnest and even maybe inspiring speech, which went something like this:

“All of us had dreams, all of us were kids at one point. Some of us got lucky, to get up on stage. Something strange happens when you get on the stage, it’s holy ground. This is electric church baby, we do it for you. Without you… all of us, we’re nobody. We’re asking the next guy in line, ‘would you like fries with that?’ So my debt of gratitude to you for making this come true. I hope all your dreams come true!”

Nice, right? Simmons received the award from Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, who himself had just won the Best Bassist honor. During his introductory speech, Sixx revealed he once slept on the streets of Seattle as a youngster in order to see KISS perform. He won’t have to go to such lengths to witness the Demon in action when the two bands embark on perhaps the summer’s most anticipated tour this summer.

- "LICK IT UP" ON 'DANCING WITH THE STARS'

By Jodi Jill

KISS returned on Tuesday night for Dancing With the Stars. The rockers hit the ballroom dance floor once again kicking off the show with an amazing performance of Lick it Up. Dressed in full costume, the fans were rocking out around the stage (and at home) and the guys showed how to make the show exciting.

The performance was accompanied by a dance routine as well. Mark Ballas, Chelsie Hightower, Henry Byalikov and Oksana Dmytrenko were dancing on the dance floor as the rockers were performing. The routine was with plenty of leather and gave the dancing fans a new way to look at the Dancing With the Stars ballroom.

The band KISS will be hitting the road over the summer as they perform at one of the biggest live concert shows planned for 2012. The global dates will give everyone a chance to see KISS in every part of the world.

Take a look at the video clip of KISS rock out Dancing With the Stars by performing Lick It Up. An odd choice for a dancing reality competition, but KISS perfectly fit into the rock themed week.

GET READY FOR THE 2012 KRUISE
KISS TO PLAY NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE SHIP

By Gene Sloan, USA TODAY

Fans of the rock band Kiss are getting another chance this year to set sail with the group.

Music cruise organizer Sixthman has announced plans for a second all-Kiss-all-the-time extravaganza at sea to take place this fall on Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Pearl.

The four-night Kiss Kruise II will kick off on Oct. 31 in Miami and include a call at Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. It comes just a year after the first Kruise, which took place last October.

As part of the new voyage, organizers say fans will have a chance to take part in onboard activities led by each member of the band and take a photo with the band and their cabin mates. The band also will take part in a Q&A, costume contests, theme nights and a Halloween party, in addition to performing a live concert in the ship's main theater and an acoustic show on its pool deck.

TONGUE-WAGGING WITH GENE SIMMONS
Tristan MacManus blogs Week 4

by Tristan MacManus

Ballroom dancing pro and amateur leprechaun Tristan MacManus will be checking in with EW.com each week as he and partner Gladys Knight go for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

On comparing tongue lengths with Gene Simmons: I don’t think I stuck it out any more tonight than I usually do, but yeah. They came up with the idea of me stickin’ it out, I guess, and then Gene came and stuck his out, so. That was a bit weird. To be honest I’m a big fan of KISS. I love KISS. And I didn’t think the first time I met Gene Simmons, Gladys Knight would be puttin’ a measurin’ tape over our tongues, know what I mean? It was fun. He’s a pretty cool guy. I actually wanted to dance to KISS this week. I was puttin’ together the costumes, the makeup and all that stuff on, but then we found out they were singing on the show, so we weren’t allowed. But I think that would have been fun, throwin’ Gladys over Gene Simmons’ ankle.

STARS GOT ED BACKSTAGE AT "DANCING"

By ANGHARAD LLEWELLYN

Katherine Jenkins got a big Kiss backstage at Dancing With The Stars last night.

Opera singer Katherine and her partner Mark Ballas met bandmembers Tommy Thayer and Paul Stanley and posted a picture to prove it on Twitter.

It was rock week on the popular US show, featuring a crowd-pleasing opening performance by the face-painted group... And she warned fans: "Well, I can safely tell you that you have never EVER seen me in anything like tonight's 'dress'..."

She was supported backstage by David Hasselhoff and his girlfriend Hayley Roberts, who is also from Wales.

KICKS OFF 'DANCING WITH THE STARS'
By Jodi Jill

KISS isn’t the typical ballroom dancing performance, but on Monday night Dancing With the Stars was anything but typical. The band remains one of the most influential bands in the history of Rock & Roll so it seemed only fitting they kick off Rock Week themed Dancing With the Stars. The band will be in the house for two episodes, so expect the band to return on Tuesday night.

Dressed in full costume and looking to get the fans off their seats, the entertainers were quite the charmers for the segment. Performing Rock and Roll All Nite, the band was accompanied on the ballroom floor by the DWTS troupe who were out in full force dancing to the performance. In leather and moving quickly, the troupe was fun to watch with the different music in the background.

As one of America’s top gold-record champions, KISS has released 44 albums and sold more than 90 million albums worldwide. Fans young and old enjoyed the unique performance and didn’t seem to mind the fire and leather found on live television. While unlikely to be asked for a score, it’s safe to bet the judges would have given the band all 10’s as the fans loved the performance!

DROPS BY 'DANCING WITH THE STARS!'
KISS drops by to lick the headbangers' ballroom floor clean on Rock Week. Double your pleather, double your fun!

By Annie Barrett

hey kept on dancing and the ballroom got hot. This week, very special guests Kiss -- lovable metal-studded caricatures of hard rock -- visited Dancing With the Stars, a lovable, Swarovski crystal-studded caricature of a televised dance competition. Both drive us wild and crazy, especially when there's tongue involved. What's not to love?

I mean, get this: In honor of Rock Week, Tom Bergeron was wearing a black sport shirt and NO TIE, while Brooke Burke made up for Tom's partial nudity by wearing all the weaves from the hair trailer. Every last one. She was the ultimate fire hazard, so considering the heightened use of pyrotechnics (just because), this may have been the ballroom's most dangerous and rebellious night yet. I like to think that had Brooke caught on fire, Kiss would have immediately launched into "God of Thunder" in conjunction with the Planet Mirrorballus sprinkler system.

This was no normal night. Gene Simmons compared tongue lengths with heavy metal legend Tristan MacManus. The members of the DWTS troupe and DWTS band director Harold Wheeler all sported full-on kabuki makeup (decoys, all of them, except Harold Wheeler). There was SO MUCH FIRE! All of that plus John Stamos in the audience?

The judges rate this spectacle an 11. ("Ele-vehhhhhn!") Have mercy.

SETS 'DANCING WITH THE STARS' ABLAZE
Wearing their iconic face paints and leather attires, Gene Simmons and his rocker bandmates open 'DWTS' by providing an electrifying soundtrack for the dancing troupe.

KISS visited "Dancing with the Stars" on the night dedicated by the reality TV show to pay tribute to rock music. Donning their trademark costumes, Gene Simmons and his bandmates kicked off the Monday night, April 9 episode with their classic hit "Rock and Roll All Nite".

While KISS were playing loud and proud on the stage, "DWTS" troupe were taking the dance floor for an equally rocking choreographed number. Three female and male dancers, clad in KISS-esque attire, kicked off their set with a chair number before trading the props with ropes.

During the performance night, Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd collected the highest score from the judges. They got a total of 27 points with their paso doble, which Carrie Ann Inaba called "the most bizarre, sexy, hot paso" she's ever seen.

DANCING WITH THE STARS ROCKED WITH !
By Ann Oldenburg

Rock music and ballroom dancing do mix, we found out, as Dancing With the Stars theme this week was "rock week," kicked off by KISS.

Costumes were mostly black, studded and leathery. Hair was big and strange. Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet were in black, and judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli carried on the theme. The only exception was Len Goodman, who stayed with his usual suit uniform.
