Last weekend i went to , what i consider now the eight wonder of the world. i had never seen a place like that, the ´KISS LOUNGE´ the one and only KISS sanctuary in the planet and not to mention the only bar-nightclub dedicated to one group or artist in the whole world, that is just something that no one, not even me can explain in words. People really have to go to see what am i talking about JUST AMAZING!! it is located 15 minutes from MEXICO CITY. As soon as i steped into the bar i got frozen, i had never seen so many KISS collectibles all together, i could not even decide what i wanted to see first, i asked for a drink and started with the tour, for the first time in my life i saw KISS items that i thought i would never see in person, vintage items from the early 70´s sealed!!!, like the record player, the pajamas, the toy guitar, the radio control van a never ending list, Paul´s fire hat and all the must have KISS items. This collection is just amazing ,it has all kind of items from all over the world, vinyls from Japan (with different obi stripes), Mexico, Australia, Argentina, Germany, France, Turkey, etc., teddy bears, clothes worn by different KISS members, so many promo stuff, a never ending list, 45 records, cd´s, 8 tracks, tour books, magazines, guitar picks, Kiss Army Leather Jackets and all kind KISS items, even the rarest of the rarest like the promo KISS coke bottle from france etc. After that i just realized that i was talking with this guy, near the bar, under a Gene Simmons Axe Bass, but not only that, i was talking with Federico \"Kiko\" Riojas, the owner of the bar, at that time i didnt know it, so i was telling him my impressions of this very unique place, and after that he introduced him self, for the second time in the same day i was stunned, he started giving me a tour, he explained with details every item, how rare it is, the year of production and every detail i asked, he is something like a KISS Bible, he knows everything about all items. Also he spoke such wonderful things about Gene,Paul,Eric,Tommy,Peter,Ace,Bruce and all past and present members of the band , amazing things like GENE being such an intelligent human being speaking something like 6 languages his incredible iq. level and being such a healthy person never drinking or smoking etc, and his life as a a bussinesman. He showed me different Paul´s and Ace´s guitars, bath robes etc. he has been collecting items for the past 30 some years, now he has almost 5000 official items stored at the lounge. then he invited me to his office, and let me tell you it is full of KISSTORY, another shrine, there he has a pinball machine that i had the chance to play!! Kiko organized at KISS LOUNGE, in 2004 and 2005 the KISS Expos in Mexico, first, with Eric Singer in 2004 but then in 2005 ESP played live FEDERICO ´KIKO´RIOJAS told me that the Mexican News Agency called NOTIMEX ,the equivalent to REUTERS for mexico,central,south america and the caribbean made an interview with him just this past month you can see that interview just amazing. Dear Gene, 8-11-08 Where do I begin? I drove to New York City to meet you at a book signing in 2000 (which was the happiest day of my life! My dream come true!), I managed to tell you that you have been the inspiration in my life, you looked at my niece standing next to me, said “is she serious?’”, signed my ‘boob’ and I went on my way. (Considering that I’m 40 years old now, and I have looked up to you since I’ve been about 6 or 7 years old, I’d like you to hear my ‘story’.) I’ve been sending you letters/pictures since I’ve been about 16 years old, in hopes that you would meet me; OK, make it into your ‘book’…I was HOT!. As I mentioned above, when I met you at the Virgin Megastore, It was the happiest day of my life, meeting my idol. I was the Homecoming Queen who got pregnant, had my daughter on graduation day & never made it to school in New York on my scholarship; I raised my daughter, with the help of my parents. My parents…have been together since 1956, had my oldest sister (Brenda) at the ages of 14 & 17..had a son who died as a baby (Terry), had my sister (Cathy),myself (Carol) and a 5th child, a son;Randy, who also died as a baby. Before I loose your attention, and you wonder where I am going with ‘all this’; let me get to my point. My Mother has Lymphoma/Leukemia; she was diagnosed in March of this year. We swiftly did everything doctors instructed us to do; from chemo, to surgeries, etc. After hearing {from the ‘local’oncologist} that there’s nothing else they could do for my Mother, that she has 6 months to live…my sisters & I started making calls, my mother was seen by a staff of oncologists in Philadelphia, Pa, after a lot more tests, more chemo, etc., the oncologists advised my family that my Mothers only chance (of living) is to have a bone marrow transplant. I can go on & on about everything my family has been through, but I think you get the point. My Mother’s transplant journey is scheduled to start 8-18-08. My whole life, I have been dreaming about YOU…literally…at least once a week…oh sometimes the rest of the band is in there, most likely Paul…but ALWAYS YOU! I have a KISS room in my house, my (real) license plate on my car ‘says’ I LOVE KIS (the first plate I had said KISS-1, someone stole it, so I had to report it to the DMV! I Dress like {Gene Simmons} twice a year….every year, my back is COVERED with KISS tattoos, everyone gets KISS merchandise for every and any occasion [for me], I’ve seen KISS concerts at least 12 times, gone to conventions (you get the point?)…I am wondering WHY I do not earn KISS points every time I use my KISS visa card, though…that SUCKS! Did I mention a KISS tribute band/concert was my wedding reception? Regardless of what EVERYONE ELSE says or thinks…. I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN! I need you help, Gene. I am hoping that after all the years of dedication & admiration for you & KISS, this letter gets in YOUR hands. I am asking local businesses for donations, as well as asking you & KISS. I am planning several fund raisers; with the help of friends, family and the community, I am hoping to raise enough money to just rent an apartment for me, my Father & my sisters during the 6 weeks that my Mother must stay in the bone marrow transplant unit. We will take turns driving back & forth to Philly, but need a place to shower, sleep, etc. An apartment in Philly (Pa) costs anywhere from $2500 to $50,000. My family has struggled to get by our whole lives…I gave you the scenario of how my parents got started…we just want to ‘get by’, support my Mother and hope her life is spared! Medical expenses are piling up and will be astronomical in the end. If I do not get a response from this, I will be truly shocked; knowing the compassionate man that you are…I will assume that once again my letter did not reach you. I am counting on you, Gene…to help my family. We are not privileged like your family. If you were to become ill (God! Forbid!), your family would not wonder how they were going to be able to afford to save your life. Please help my family! All donations can be made payable to my Mother, Sandra Brown. Dear Gene,Paul,Eric,and Tommy.... I can\'t say thank you enough for the wonderful concert at Sturgis! I had the time of my life, was in the front row right in front of Gene, I could feel the heat from the pyro! Also guys, thank you so much for your support of our troops! It really means a lot to me as I come from a long line of men who served in the US Army and my mother came here from Scotland. Dear Kiss, The first time my gfather took me to a kiss show I was just 6 years old. I was blown away and my father bought me my first guitar 3 days later and ive been hooked on playing kiss tunes ever since. I had seen you guys 7 times before Sturgis but this time my father and I sprung for the VIP package. This show could not have come at a better time,I leave to defend our country in The United States Air Force on August 12th and you guys gave me the opportunity to rock and roll all nite and party one last time. Not only have you been the most influential rock act in my life but your lyrics and attitudes have taught me to never listen to the rules in society and to pursue what I want out of life. Thanks for the inspiration and the soundtrack to my life. I followed this performance by heading to the tattoo shop and getting the rose of my ultimate hero, although you are all incredible, Paul Stanley. Kiss will never die. I have seen you guys perform 4 times and you havent missed a beat. I seen you in Denver 2 Times then I seen You at Dodger Stadium on Haloween night In 98 That concert was HUGE. I was sort of worried about the Sturgis concert because Ace & Peter werent with you but I was impressed by the skill that Eric Singer & Tommy Thayer brought to the table. This is the first concert for my wife & the first time I have ever been front row and I have seen many venues. We were on genes side of the stage & it was incrediable that you guys are so in tune & on time with every beat hats off to you. I live here in Rapid City & I am keeping my fingers crossed that We will see you again for my fifth time at next years Rally. You guys made august 4 A day to remember for us and everyone else in South Dakota & that day will always be KISS day in South Dakota. You will always be the greatest band ever.

It was an incredible experience, and what was even more amazing was the feeling I got when I made it to the summit of Mt. Kenya, which I never expected to reach. It took 3 days to get up there, but when we did I made sure my KISS flag was up there with me, helping to spread the KISS Army to as many corners of the globe as possible. On the left is me at Old Moses camp, 3300 metres above sea level, and on the right is me at the summit, 4985 metres above sea level (you can see how my face swelled up due to the altitude haha). Not so long before I went to Kenya I was front row for the most awesome KISS show ever at Download festival. Its been a really exciting past couple of months for me and KISS has been a huge part of it. Thanks guys, can\'t wait to see you in the UK again soon. - Jennifer :)
