KISSONLINE FAN LETTER
I've been a fan since Lick It Up was released in 1983, and saw my first KISS show in 1988. That first show was Donington. Since then, tours have come and tours have gone, and I've been able to witness a few very special concerts. Some I hold dear to me are Cardiff (Wales) in 1992 and Perth (Australia) in 1997. Two different shows, same damn band!
Download/Donington 2008, though, was an extraordinary event. Never before have I seen a festival crowd enjoy one band so much. I had my reservations about Download so actually booked a ticket for Paris instead where we'd at least be among like-minded individuals. As it turned out, not seeing KISS on home-turf seemed almost a crime so I bought a ticket for Download as well, and that's the best thing I've done for a long long time. The stars and the planets lined up that night - great weather, receptive audience, a killer performance, and enough carbon emissions of a small industrial country. Fantastic!
Here's a pic I took at Download and then Paul coming out to see us at the Bercy, Paris.
