KISS ADD BLOOD TO COMIC BOOK

May 26, 1977 - KISS announce their debut KISS Marvel Comic book and deposit their own blood in the comic book ink at the Marvel printing plant.

Gene recalled the event:

As the KISS comic book project moved along, someone came up with the idea of putting real blood in the ink. It wasn't me - maybe it was Bill Aucoin. We got in the DC3, one of those big prop planes, and flew up to Buffalo to Marvel's printing plant, where they pour the ink and make comic books. A notary public actually witnessed the blood being drawn.

INSPIRE 10,000 FANS IN LEIPZIG
LVZ ONLINE

Kiss transformed the Leipzig Arena on Tuesday into a firepot. The band brought their Sonic Boom Over Europe 2010 tour to the city, bringing all the equipment necessary for a rock and roll circus. The 10,000 enthusiastic fans - many of them young - enjoyed the beautiful, expensive pyrotechnics, flashy costumes and legendary bassist Gene Simmons' tongue play.

Kiss delivered a gigantic show to the packed arena. From detonations to blood-spitting to a rain of confetti, fans didn't miss a thing. With a pulley cable, singer and guitarist Stanley slid across the ceiling to the middle of the auditorium, and bassist Simmons was enthroned on a lit ceiling platform.

Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley presented old hits like "Rock 'n' Roll All Night" and "I Was Made For Loving You," as well as three songs from the current album.

ENGAGED, -STYLE IN LONDON
KISSONLINE FAN LETTER
I just want to say thanks to KISS!

My girlfriend and I came to see you in London on the 13th of May, 21010, which was also my birthday. It was the best birthday I could ever ask for, as the best band ever was playing! I also want to thank you for another reason. During "Rock and Roll all Nite," I proposed to my girlfriend, and she said yes! She loved the way I did it because of all the confetti, and the almost once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see you guys.

Thanks, and come back to England soon!

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- When KISS tours the United States this summer, it will not be for nostalgia, the band said.

After nearly four decades of touring and recording, KISS has hundreds of songs to choose from, but bassist Gene Simmons promises a new show.

"Every time we go on tour we add new stuff people have never seen before," he said. "We continue to add more songs to our large repertoire."

Their latest album, Sonic Boom, is "classic KISS without sounding retro," guitarist Paul Stanley said.

"The Hottest Show on Earth" tour will kick off July 23 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, with at least 22 concerts, mostly on weekends through Labor Day.
