THEMED CRUISES REALLY ROCK THE BOAT!

You also can cruise with groups like Lynryd Skynryd and KISS — bands that have been around a few decades but still draw passionate fans ready to rock and roll all night.

Convenience is a big part of the music cruise appeal.

Head to your local arena for a concert and you'll face some hassles: heavy traffic, long bathroom lines and driving home after a night of partying.

Step on a music cruise and your favorite bands, drinks, food and bed are all right there.

The cruises also give fans a chance to connect with musicians in a way they can't in a 15,000-seat arena, said Ben Ferguson, spokesman for Sixthman, which organizes cruises for 311, KISS and dozens of other artists from Lucinda Williams to Weezer.

Paul Sanne of Norfolk, Neb, jumped on a KISS cruise with his wife last fall and will never forget the concert on the first night. The band, including original members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, walked onto a stage in jeans, boots and no makeup. The musicians told the crowd how pumped they were to join the cruise, thanked the fans and ripped into songs like “Hard Luck Woman.”

“It was more personal,'' Sanne said. “You could tell they were having a good time.”

Another concert featured KISS in full makeup. Sanne, 45, loved that the band played not just hits, but B-side songs fans might not hear at a typical KISS concert.

The topper?

On the third day of the cruise, he and his wife, Michelle, posed in a group picture with KISS. The couple had a few moments to tell the band how much they loved the vacation. KISS member Simmons told them he was up for another cruise, and stood behind Paul and put his hands on his shoulders for the photo shoot.

"TANKED" STARS GET A TASTE OF
By Kiran Hefa

Wayde King and Brett Raymer have worked on their fair share of impressive fish tanks, but a recent addition to their resume introduced them to some very special collaborators.

"It was pretty painless," Raymer says of working with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS, who came out to admire their handiwork at the grand opening of a KISS-themed miniature golf course in Las Vegas, where the duo built a tank bearing the band's logo.

The structure is just one of many the pair, who are also brothers-in-law, construct in the newest season of Tanked, which airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet. Later this week, King and Raymer will head to the home of 30 Rock star – and noted animal lover – Tracy Morgan to install a shark tank.

THE DEVIL VISITS THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
GENESIMMONS.com
Gene Simmons visited and half the city showed up.

He not only offered interviews, but accompanied by his wife Shannon Tweed, covered the Historical Center, came to the Palace of Government and had a brief meeting with the President Ollanta Humala.

As published in the web edition of El Comercio, the legendary bassist of KISS' tour was to film an episode of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels', his 'reality' TV show, dedicated to our country.

Around 10am in the morning, Simmons came to the district of Lima, visited the Golden Palace, attended the changing of the guard of the Hussars of Junín and met with the President, who was accompanied by first lady Nadine Heredia.

"The whole world loves Peru; its food, its women, its history. This is not a small country in a small continent. This is a modern country in the twenty-first century that would impress anyone," said Simmons to ElComercio.pe

FAN'S VIDEO CELEBRATES & THE ARMY!
KISSONLINE FAN LETTER
I edited this video for my old TV show, "Gido-Blaster & The Habitual Offenderz" back in the mid 90s after the song and album leaked. However, as you know it would be a long while before the album with better quality audio would be officially released entitled, "Carnival Of Souls."

Video elements contain footage of myself (when I had long hair) with the band from the Palms hotel pre-show party in Phoenix, Arizona. The books were made by another huge fan & I believe these spawned the seed for the KISStory books and their design. Check it out!

NIKKI SIXX'S FULL INTERVIEW WITH GENE SIMMONS
SIXX SENSE
Here's Nikki Sixx's full interview with Gene Simmons from his recent appearance on SIXX SENSE.

Mini Kiss started out as a novelty act as four little people dancing on a bar in costumes and make-up, lip-syncing to the lyrics made famous by their full-size original counterparts. It may have been a far cry from being taken more seriously as an actual tribute band at the time, but it beat the heck out of seasonal work as elves. Unfortunately, when it comes to finding work as a little person, this petite population usually gets the short end of the stick...no pun intended...really.

But in a classic case of "build it and they will come," the demand for more of this unique take on Kiss soon got to the point that it made those involved begin to think: "maybe we're onto something here."

They were.

"Mini Kiss was mainly created by my brother Joseph, a 4'4" little person," said Louis Fatale, manager of the group. "He was doing work as Oompa Loompas and elves to make money when a club in Manhattan wanted to do something a little different for Halloween. My brother was a huge fan of '80s rock and Kiss in particular, so they came up with the idea of using little people and calling it 'Mini Kiss.'

MY TATTOO STORY
KISSONLINE FAN LETTER
I finally did it!! I got my KISS tattoo 2 days ago. This one means the most to me, and probably always will. Considering, the roses are for my grandma who passed away last August. And KISS combined with the motivation that woman gave me, saved my life when I was 17. I have been a fan since I was 8 years old, but never did I think I'd hear "Beth," belt it out and call my grandma afterwards in tears. Now mind you, "Beth" and "Rock and Roll all Nite" are pretty much the only songs I'd hear. (I would have much rather my life saving song be "Forever" or "I love it Loud." But I did have a cousin named Beth who I loved to pieces.) & even then it was a rare occasion.

So I knew when that came on, I had to stop dealing with my problems alone & look at at a much bigger picture. It wasn't easy... But it's the obstacles in life I have faced that make me appreciate the people and things behind every good choice I have made, even more. So here's to the great things life brings and the bad times that the great things and people help you get through. KISS, I love you! Especially you Paul and Gene, Gene and Paul! You 2 always have had me torn! Mwah! And grandma, I'm sorry that ink wasn't your favorite thing...but this one is for you, too! I can't wait to see you guys August 31st, whatsoever! And to the KISS Army members in Cincinnati, let's be the craziest party animals they'll see this year, ha!

Much, much love!
Jessica
