Get ready for The Biggest Artists Competition in the Universe - a parody that gives "Voice" to the false "Idols" who "Think They Can Dance." After watching a bunch of no-name contestants on singing and dancing shows, the biggest celebrities in the universe now want to take a shot alongside the "regular" people. So big that it's not even reality television anymore, it's surreality television. Warning: the show isn't for those with weak hearts who can't handle laughing for 22 straight minutes.

Paul Stanley Joins Gene Simmons as Founding Partner in Rock & Brews Restaurant Venture

Stanley and Simmons Will Open New Rock & Brews in Los Cabos March 22 and 23, Kicking Off Significant Expansion of the Brand

Today, Rock & Brews™ announced that KISS rock legend Paul Stanley is joining forces with fellow KISS co-founder Gene Simmons in his Rock & Brews restaurant venture as the company prepares for worldwide expansion. Together, they will co-host the March 22 and 23 opening of Rock & Brews in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, the second location for the emerging brand.

Rock & Brews Los Cabos is the first international location for the new entertainment and rock-themed dining concept. Stanley and Simmons, along with Rock & Brews co-founding partners restaurateur-hotelier Michael Zislis and veteran concert promoter Dave Furano, have teamed up with Los Cabos’ restaurateurs Jessica Moreira, Rodrigo Cabeza De Vaca, and Sergio Martinez, and developers Alfredo Gadsden, Gabriel Gadsden and Mario Gadsden for the opening.

“I am honored to join the Rock & Brews lineup, and am especially excited for our first international location in Los Cabos,” said Stanley. “Rock & Brews is truly a unique concept that embraces music and concert-style social gatherings like no other dining venue.”

The new Rock & Brews Los Cabos features a unique concert themed-atmosphere complete with hand-painted murals of rock artists, album and tour art. Guests can take advantage of the al fresco dining offered, or enjoy sitting indoors in an authentically themed backstage concert site. The restaurant features a full bar and will have the largest selection of craft beers in Los Cabos. It is set to be a main late-night attraction for locals and tourists alike, as after the dinner rush, a DJ will be spinning tunes nightly.

The grand opening of Rock & Brews Los Cabos will welcome about 400 KISS fans from around the world, along with music industry notables and local VIPs.

KISS's sound was impressive and their stunts slick; the blood spitting, fire breathing, rocket launching and hydraulic platform pieces as cleanly executed as Tommy Thayer's precision guitar work. Stanley's flying-fox spin to the back of the hall during Love Gun was thematically mystifying but positively balletic in execution.

With Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud and Rock and Roll All Nite stuffed down their tights and a brave smattering of newer material equally tautly served, they managed to honour the rock'n'roll soldiers in their daft circus act.

Every great fairytale starts with Once Upon a Time. When you hear those words you know immediately you are about to be taken on a journey to strange and mystical places. If you allow yourself to suspend your belief and ignore the fact nothing in a fairytale is real, you will meet strange creatures, go on amazing adventures, there will be drama, colour and heart pounding action. A good fairytale will leave you exhausted and happy.

When the lights go down and a voice booms "ALRIGHT ADELAIDE - YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST, THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD - KISS!", it is rock'n'roll's finest Once Upon A Time.

Clearly the choice of signing the big drawcard double bill of KISS and 80's metal dudes MOTLEY CRUE to headline the final race day concert was a smart one for the Clipsal. It was the first time the event has been completely sold out and the Kiss t-shirts almost outnumbered the Ford and Holden ones.

After a break it's time for the main event. The 'Hot Zone' down the front has filled up and the rest of the concert area is packed with the biggest crowd for any concert in the races history. After their 'once upon a time' the giant KISS curtain drops and Kiss are descending from the top of the stage on a flying stage, while explosions are going off all around, they are ripping into Detroit Rock City the opening track from Destroyer, their fourth (and some might say best) album. It is great. As a life long fan who has seen them play many times, for the writer, this never gets old. For the first three songs bass player Gene Simmons, guitarist Paul Stanley and guitarist Tommy Thayer (Ace Frehley left many years ago), mug shamelessly at the photographers. They know the value of their being great shots of them out there and as you can see from the Mix102 photographs from the event, every shot is a winner. Shout it Out Loud, Calling Dr Love and Firehouse lead into I Love it Loud with Gene leading a mass sing-a-long.

Dear Paul, Gene, Tommy and Eric,

My wife Bev, sons Tim and Nathan, their friend Chad and I all went to the first 40th anniversary show on Thursday in Perth. We'd been waiting with anticipation for the hottest band in the world to play the hottest show on Earth - and it was definitely hotter than hell! The boys and I were so excited about seeing you again that we hit the streets in full KISS makeup ... and suits - what better way to celebrate the night but to be dressed to kill!

We drove to the train station with cars almost running off the road. Trains pulled into the station - one guy was so amazed he even licked the window. On the train, people asked for our photographs (to which we obliged). Walking through Perth to the Arena, people asked for photographs. At the concert, people asked us for photographs - one lady behind us said "this is the closest I'll ever get to having a photo with KISS!" People congratulated us and shook our hands - "Thank you sir!" was one fan's comment.

For a few hours, we lived the KISS life - what a high - an experience we'll never forget - because of the close-knit family of fans you guys have created across the globe. My son Tim turns 18 on 19 March - what a fantastic way to celebrate his milestone (he's dressed as The Spaceman). My other son Nathan is The Catman, Chad (Tim's mate) is The Demon and I am The Starchild. My wife Bev wanted to dress up too but being the perfect Mum, put the boys first (so ran out of time) - but she too was so excited before, during and after the show.

From all of us, thank you for a Monster night. Happy 40th - "WE (STILL) WANT KISS!!!"
