Gene talks about new stage and lots more during his Q&A at the Indianapolis KISS Fan Expo last weekend.
SCENES FROM INDY FAN EXPO DAY 1
Here are some photos from Saturday's Indianapolis KISS Fan Expo. Gene Simmons kicked things off in a big way with an entertaining Q & A that was funny, emotional and inspiring.
Later that evening, local Indy band DST entertained the crowd with a mix of original tunes and KISS classics. Bruce Kulick and Bob Kulick joined them for several rockin' versions of KISS songs, including "All American Man," "Larger Than Life," and "Rock And Roll All Nite!"

THIS DAY IN TORY 1976
On this day in KISSTORY - May 13th, 1976 KISS played their first ever UK show at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, England. The show before a sellout crowd of over 2500 was the beginning of KISS' first European tour. In addition to shows in England, KISS performed in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Germany where the Scorpions were the opening act. KISS wrapped up the tour with a final show on June 6th at Ontmoetingscentrum in Harelbeke, Belgium.
Gene recalls KISS' first visit to England:
"On the way over to our first English tour, I was struck by the notion that this was the Land Of The Beatles. To me, the English Kings and Queens never meant anything. I have always looked at it as an archaic and rather silly posturing about past glories. But as cultural oddities, I suppose it had its own innocence.
Still, I was nervous to set foot on Holy Ground. We got off the jet in full makeup and the fotogs were waiting for us. We came through customs and jumped on street cars at the airport for foto ops.
I was aware it was drizzly and grey. I was hoping that would change in the next few days to sunshine. It didn't.
We had a female chaperone/record company person with us. And, she showed us the sites. I thought the least I could do was return the favor. I did.
We visited the Palace and posed with street Bobbies (the English police) and were soon to hit the stage in front of an English audience. Would they like us? Truth was, we never thought much about it. We had a job to do and that was to punish the audience. They had, for too long, stood still for sub par live bands.
It was our job to show them that there was at least one band who had the balls to introduce themselves with: YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST...THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE LAND, KISS."
Set List for the Manchester show:
Deuce / Strutter / Flaming Youth / Hotter Than Hell / Firehouse / She / Nothin' To Lose / Shout It Out Loud / 100,000 Years / Black Diamond / Detroit Rock City / Rock And Roll All Nite / Let Me Go, Rock And Roll

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons hosted an opening in Torrance, where they served 100 military veterans.
Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, co-founders of KISS, have an ambitious worldwide restaurant strategy for their co-owned franchise, Rock & Brews. The dynamic rock titans recently opened their third restaurant and second Los Angeles area location in a year, furthering their plans to open an impressive 100 more in five years.
Stanley is excited about the rapid expansion of the Rock & Brews brand.
“We are spreading our tentacles!" Stanley said. "It’s a family friendly place where you don’t have to compromise your palate. Most of the time when you bring your kids to a restaurant, you are eating cardboard pizza or dried out macaroni and cheese. This is really your place where you can hang out, choose from one of our 80 craft beers, hear quality rock music and have a great night with your friends. ”
Happy Mother's Day. We hope all of our KISS Army Moms have a great day!

KISS Honor Wounded Warriors at Grand Opening of Band’s Rock & Brews Restaurant
By Laura Ferreiro
When most people think of the band KISS, painted faces, platform shoes and pyrotechnics come to mind. But delve a little deeper and you'll find much more to the veteran rockers. KISS co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are also savvy businessmen and active philanthropists who used the occasion of the grand opening of their Rock & Brews restaurant in Torrance, California, on Wednesday to honor wounded military service members.
Stanley and Simmons invited members of the Wounded Warriors Project to a free lunch in their honor at the new Pacific Coast Highway location of their restaurant chain. The national nonprofit organization works to honor and empower wounded service members, help them adjust to life after being injured through various programs, and enlists the public to help in these endeavors.
When asked why they got involved with the Wounded Warriors Project, Simmons responded, "Why wouldn't every American--past, present, and future--not want to be? Why don't we all get a good kick in the nuts and wake up to the fact that our lives are made possible by people who volunteer and risk their lives and after they make the ultimate sacrifice?"
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS fame gave the beach cities a dose of rock and roll when they opened Rock & Brews’ newest location Wednesday, May 8, at 6300 Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance.
The co-owners of the growing franchise, which also has another local location in El Segundo, performed for nearly 20 minutes for the appreciative audience who bought tickets for the gala opening, a benefit for Torrance Education Foundation. Earlier in the day, Simmons and Stanley hosted a luncheon for more than 100 returning military veterans and Wounded Warriors.
KISS performed their anthem “Rock and Roll All Nite” Wednesday night, as well as “Lick it Up” and “Hotter Than Hell.” Also joining them on stage, which was above the restaurant’s bar, was guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer.
Here's Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer performing "Rock and Roll All Nite" at the grand opening of Rock & Brews PCH in Torrance last night. You can't see Eric in the clip but he wanted you to know that it was him pounding the drums.
