Mike Ragogna: Paul, how are you doing?

Paul Stanley: Good, give me one minute to sneeze. [sneezes] You got the brunt of that one. Wipe yourself off and then we'll get to work.

MR: [laughs] Dude, your book released at number two best selling on The New York TImes list. How does something like that feel?

PS: I'm not easily found speechless, but as much as I'd be able to articulate it, it's humbling and incredibly rewarding. I just found out that right now it's an international best seller as well. Clearly I wrote the book with a purpose and I wrote the book with a vision far beyond the idea of a KISS book. This is a book about my life story, being born deaf on one side without an ear, the scrutiny I went through, and coming from a family that--not intentionally--was minimally supportive or less and the quest for fame as a means of going in the hole and the sense of self-doubt and what came of that. I was lucky enough to become successful and at that point I realized although success was an incredible gift it didn't change anything in my life. Your secrets remain your secrets, other people may not know them, but then at that point you'll either be a victim in life and complain or you'll put a shotgun in your mouth or a needle in your arm or you'll roll up your sleeves and start excavating, you'll start demolition, tear things down and build a life that can be amazing. I think that's universal, and that's what I'm getting from people, it's not a book purely for musicians and it's not a book purely for Kiss fans, it's a book that resonates with a lot of people.

KISS ROCKED AMERICAN IDOL FINALE

On this day in KISSTORY - May 20, 2009, KISS rocked over 25 million Americans with Detroit Rock City and Rock and Roll All Night as the band was front-and-center on the American Idol finale show performing with runner-up Adam Lambert.

- KISS was just about the best thing on Idol ALL SEASON LONG. - Rolling Stone

- a jaw-dropping, fist-pumping, pyro-enhanced performance with legendary rockers KISS. - MTV

- KISS Blow Up American Idol. Now that's the way to rock the house! - Associated Content

- It was a night to remember for all those members (including me) of the KISS Army. - WBAL Radio

- Carlos Santana had the unenviable task of following the act. He strummed out some of his famous licks, which felt very slow-paced after the unbelievable energy KISS brought to the theatre. I was actually screaming to see more KISS by this point. - TV Envy

ONE OF THE GREATEST MOMENTS IN MY LIFE!
FACEBOOK FAN LETTER
After the book signing Brenda Finnegan and I went to The Cheese Cake Factory for supper. I told myself, imagine if I went back and saw Paul. Well, Brenda and I did just that. I noticed that Paul had not yet left the signing area but the doors were locked with fans waiting outside to get stuff signed. I went into the Barnes and Noble and asked a rep, with whom I was working with throughout the day for my KISS Army Nation video and asked her if it would be possible to have Paul sign below my KISS tattoo. She said she couldn't ask him directly but will make an indirect comment to that effect. She asked me to wait outside the doors. As I came around the corner she ushered me into the room. My God, Brenda and I were ALONE with freakin' Paul Stanley. I said when I walked in, "Paul, are you serious, are you really going to do this for me?" He said "sure" and carefully signed my arm!!!

After thanking him about a million times I asked a staff member for the nearest tattoo parlour. She had no idea. Brenda and I walked aimlessly around the mall not knowing what to do. We then came across a random woman wearing a tattoo and I ran to her asking her if she knew of a parlour close by. She happened to work at the mall, and she was kind enough to go back to her office and print out addresses to several tattoo parlours in the Boston area. Brenda and I jumped into the car and raced towards the first address. It was OPEN. The guy inside was cleaning up and locking up and I begged him to do my tattoo, explaining how I got it and that it was my only chance being that I'm from Canada and the signature may fade by the next day.

His girlfriend was waiting outside for him and I begged her to wait a little while longer so her boyfriend could do my tattoo. They both agreed. I really don't believe that things happen for a reason but the circumstances that lead to Paul signing my arm, to meeting a random woman with a tattoo who happened to be working at the mall to finding a tattoo shop which was late closing because the previous client went long cannot be a coincidence. A higher power was at work here. I don't know who or what I have to thank but THANK YOU for making a dream come true!!!

DAUGHTER HELPS MOM MEET PAUL AT FAN EXPO!
KISSONLINE.com
My oldest daughter Kayleigh Andrews has loved Gene Simmons for over half of her life, so for me to be able to arrange that for her last year was the ultimate highlight of my life. To watch her cry meeting her hero melted my heart! She turned the tables on me this year. She knows how much Paul Stanley means to me, how much of an inspiration he has been. So...during the Q and A she told him. Then for him to call me up on stage with him to hug me was a dream come true. I have to admit I've admired him many times from a far and had no intention of meeting him. I was content to just look..lol. I know this meant a lot to her to have been able to do this. I have to admit, it meant so much more hearing afterwards that both my daughters cried during this moment. That to me is priceless. Not only that, but both moments were shared with our KISS family.

LA EXPANDS AUCTION TO SUPPORT OUR VETERANS
KISSONLINE.com
Schuyler Hoversten, President of LA KISS announced that the organization will expand its partnership with Veteran Tickets Foundation (VetTix) through online auctions of exclusive memorabilia as part of an ongoing effort to support our deserving veterans.

“Getting the opportunity to partner with newest and loudest team in Pro Sports is outrageous,” said Mike Focareto, CEO of VetTix “We know LA KISS fans get much more than a football game, they get live music, a pyrotechnics show, lasers, bmx bikers, dancers, and more. We’re excited to make this experience possible to our Veterans.”

Rock 'n' roll legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the band KISS formed L.A. KISS in partnership with media mogul Doc McGee and AFL Veteran Brett Bouchy after they saw a need to fuse sports and entertainment in an environment that was enjoyable for the entire family.

LA KISS Co-owner Gene Simmons stated, “My mother was liberated from a concentration camp by American Troops, I will always be grateful of our brave men and women who serve. We are proud to support Vet Tix, this partnership gives our military and their families with edge-of-your-seat entertainment.”

The auction features unique one-of-a-kind items and signed memorabilia such as: team worn jerseys and helmets signed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in addition to the limited edition all chrome helmets designed by Paul Stanley. - http://www.ebay.com/usr/lakissfootball?_trksid=p2047675.l2559.

Proceeds from the winning bids will be donated to Veteran Tickets Foundation. All winners will be provided a tax deductible receipt from VetTix.

KISS PERFORMED AT MAGIC MOUNTAIN

On this day in KISSTORY - May 19th, 1978, KISS performed a free concert at Magic Mountain Amusement Park in Valencia, California to film the concert scenes for the "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park." The concert took place in the parking lot of Magic Mountain. Tickets were distributed through a California radio station and approximately 10,000 fans attended the show. KISS performed a full regular set list and then lip-synched "Love Gun" and "Shock Me" for the movie. Between the concert and filming the extra scenes, the shoot lasted several hours and the band members interacted with the crowd through out the event.

Paul on the concert and film shoot:

"I remember it all like it was yesterday. Doing a film and a concert in a band where some were barely speaking to each other and others not speaking at all was even weirder than the script! I still can't figure out the end of the film."
