Halloween 1980

I had chronic nosebleeds as a child, and they were so bad blood would pour down my throat. It was scary and disgusting to me as I'd cough and spit up blood. But then I saw KISS perform on TV, and I watched in amazement as Gene Simmons spit blood on stage. In an instant he made my problem not just acceptable, but kind of awesome. I still remember seeing the Halloween mask displayed at the department store, and I knew what I wanted to be that year. I love this picture for so many reasons. My siblings went as a ghost, a football player and a princess - your traditional run-of-the-mill costumes. But me, I went as The Demon. God bless my mother for doing her best to try and throw together the rest of the costume. I was four years old.- Andrew Laker

Donington 1996

The next part of the KISS - Off The Soundboard - Live At Donington 1996 edition is approaching, so I enclose a private memory. Washroom with toilets in the camp, two sinks. I stood to my left, painting my face for an hour. At the other was a line of 10-20 people as they gradually woke up and came. It was not the only problem that one person blocked the sink for others. They patiently stood in line, looked, and nodded - like "OK." Thank you all. I saw Kiss several times, but August 17, 1996 was the day I first saw the band live in the original line-up. The show was fantastic and for me personally a lifelong experience. P.S. Thanks also to the willing local men of the law for the joint photo. Jirka Pokorný, Czech Republic

KISSTERBUNNY

In honor of the 45th anniversary of Destroyer I created this Kissterbunny rendition of the album art for Easter. Destroyer and the art by Ken Kelly is one of those albums that was HUGE in my young life. I spent hours listening to it and studying the art. Happy Easter! #fanart John Rios
